Bridgeprep Academy will be opening their doors to a STEAM academy where students will be equipped to become the “Leaders of the 21st Century” and compete in the global marketplace. The STEAM Academy will provide a challenging and rigorous interdisciplinary approach to the middle school program that will create a fusion of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. The program will prepare students with the ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and drive advancements in science and technology. In addition, the Arts and Engineering strands will be designed primarily for those students who are interested in the analysis, design, and operation of aircraft and space vehicles.

The vision of STEAM Academy is to provide a rigorous 21st century course of study which will equip students for today’s competitive and changing world. In the STEAM Academy, students will acquire the academic skills and develop interpersonal qualities that are necessary to succeed in further studies and well beyond in the 21st-century workplace.

At the STEAM academy, students will be exposed to an interdisciplinary curriculum that includes Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). The curriculum will address multiple intelligences and individual learning styles to meet the diverse needs in the 21st century. Students will be challenged with project-based activities and real world connections and practitioners throughout each academy of study. The curriculum will place emphasis on Science and Technology, interpreted through Engineering and the Arts, all based in Mathematical elements. A framework for teaching that is based on natural ways of learning, customizable for ALL types of students and programs that are FUNctional! The STEAM academy’s scope and sequence will be designed and aligned to strand and Technical programs and certifications being offered at the local and top performing high schools.
